Overview

Pallet flow rack system(also called pallet live)  is an ideal solution to the fast-paced warehouse or storage facilities that deal with perishable product, fully utilizing the given storage space. In a pallet flow rack system, pallets are stored on inclined lanes equipped with flow rails or roller tracks, which support and allow the pallets to roll down from one side to the picking end one by one via gravity. The picking aisle always remains fully stocked since the pallets gently “flow” into position, allowing for quick and efficient inventory turnover. Following First-In&First-Out(FIFO) principle, this pallet flow rack system offers increased storage density, automatic stock rotation, trouble-free product handling and fast pallet selection. Acting like a conveyor with a rack structure, these racks guarantee a secure and safe handling procession by keeping employees away from dangerous forklifts.

Structures and System Configuration

Pallets are loaded onto fixed lanes of inclined gravity rollers which are set at a fixed gradient. When a pallet is taken from the picking face, the next pallet rolls into position, with replenishment stock loaded at the opposite (upper) end of the lane. Following a First-in/First-Out principle, stock rotation is therefore automatic with minimum forklift truck travel distance. 

As a high-density storage system with convenient material handling process, pallet flow racking systems are widely used in a lot of areas such as freezer applications, food productions and some large distribution centers.
